1962 Bel Air sport coupe
Selling my own personal owned (33 years) 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air sport coupe. This car was bought new from McTaggart-Weidner Motors in Lacombe Alberta July 23, 1962. (Still operating as Weidner Motors) The original owner of the car kept it until she passed away. As many times as I have said that I will keep the car until I die, I now feel that my Bel Air needs a new care-taker; somebody who will love and restore the car. This is an original matching numbers ‘survivor’ car in much the same condition as shown in the photos. $35,000.
***NEW INFORMATION! I recently received a PDF of the BelAir’s ORIGINAL BILL OF SALE. (It has appreciated some over the years- counting inflation.)
The Factory List price was $2944.00
Freight, tax & handling 445.00
Accessories 544.00
Service 25.00
TOTAL: $3958.00
In case you wondered what ‘options’ were back in the day, have a look:
Anti-freeze, Undercoating, Heavy duty springs, Power brakes, Whitewall tires, Wheel trim discs, Automatic transmission, Two tone paint, Tinted windshield, Padded dash, Seat belts, Two speed wipers, Radio.
(No individual cost breakdown.)
The buyer was allowed $1058. Trade in allowance for her 1955 Chevrolet BelAir 4dr. sedan. COOL, HUH?
